'Titov's list' fugitive businessman accuses FSB of money extortion

Siloviki offered to terminate the criminal case against him when ill with cancer son had fallen into a coma.

Businessman from the Titov's list Azamat Kildigushev said that the siloviki offered to terminate the criminal case against him in Russia for money, MBK Media reports. The proposal came when Kildigushev's son, the cancer patient, fell into a coma.

The businessman saw his son in January 2017 the last time. After that, Kildigushev did not communicate with his family. A year later, the child was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. On Sunday, September 2, the boy slipped into a coma at the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital in Ufa. The businessman found out about this only on Thursday, but the special services contacted him through a lawyer on Monday. Siloviki offered to terminate the criminal case against him for money.

"People from the FSB, the Investigative Committee and the Prosecutor's Office of Bashkiria have more information than I do. They offered me a ‘peaceful settlement,' mentioned the price; I will not disclose the amount, it is small. I pay them money, they dealt with the investigator, the deputy prosecutor of Bashkiria, and I can return home. And today I learned that my family rubs through a great tragedy. I understood why they contacted me," Kildigushev said.

Azamat Kildigushev is put on the international wanted list since April 2018 on charges of embezzling about 15 million rubles ($219.800). He said he was ready to sign a plea deal or be criminally liable to "spend at least three minutes with his son." He added that he hopes for business ombudsman Boris Titov's support.
